Haven't been to Cervinia since 1982 so not sure any intelligence I can pass on would be sufficiently up-to-date. But I do remember it as a cruising mountain par excellence, the Ventina is a memorable high speed blast and the run down to Valtournenche was good fun!

Seems the 'risk' is being steadily reduced - 36inches of new snow in the last 24 hours at Heavenly! :D

Try the GoatStall if you want lively. It rocks all night long and the midnight entertainment is not for the faint-hearted!

By the way, a brilliant start to the season in Lake Tahoe. Feeling a bit smug about booking that for the new year way back in the summer!

I'd love to know where you get the forecasts that you circulate by e-mail. Over the last couple of weeks, you've sent through Heavenly with a big yellow sun on every day. As you say above, California resorts have had large snowfalls. I've followed the local forecasts and the webcams and have enjoyed the regular, very heavy snowfall. Some snow forecast every day for the coming week. Not criticising, just interested to know...

Not looking risky at the moment! Loads of snow fallen in November and December. Some snow forecast every day this week. 27 out of 29 lifts running at Heavenly. Most of the mountain open ahead of schedule. Looking forward to being there in January. -)

Enjoying watching the snow fall and fall in Tahoe, Kirkwood etc on the various webcams!!

Another vote for Zardoz - very easy to apply and very effective. Available online or in good ski retailers.
