Has any j2skier stayed in Zug a small hamlet approx 2km outside Lech. It has one chair that takes you upto the Lech ski area. I ask, because we will be based there for a week in January and I gather although you can access the mountain via the chair, there are only two ski routes down into Zug. One classed as extreme and the other a red ski route with mixed reports on the viability of the decent into Zug. I have been told the ski bus from Lech to Zug is reliable and good.

Any information would be much appreciated.

Thanks Ally, It will seem strange going up in the lifts at that time of year and walking down!

Seems like the perfect time to try out some grass skis :)

PS The Belguim/Germany route seems to be the one recommended as you do not have to pay the French tolls. As far as distance, there is very little in it. We will be doing this route to Kitzbuhel next season.

I was grass skiing in January this year

Looks good Far Queue - I will need a lot of padding/protection and hucking is out!

Ian, You should of gone to Specsavers and turned left into Austria

I did come across to the dark side one summer ...... took the wrong turn in Italy

 Still not converted Ian

There is a nice Bar/Restaurant called "The Station" at the base of Chantemerle by the Luc Alphand run in Serre Chevalier. It is run by brits and when we were there in March 2011 there were a number of young brits employed. You can get their contact details from the Serre Chevalier website or Google them. Once you have some experience under your belt I would give them a call. Great area on your days off

Make sure you fill up in Luxembourg, unleaded is 1.33 Euro a litre and diesel 1.15

Thanks SwingBeep, We go towards the end of August so the weather should settle with any luck.
