Ouch; maybe you'll be have a great late season. Tignes still goes strong right through to the first week in May, so there's hope. Best wishes for a speedier-than-feared recovery Nelly.

This sounds exciting .... It does definitely seem right and proper to not be planning ski trips when the sun is blazing down; a little bit like the football starting in August. It's just not right !

Interesting Jocrad; I guess the equation of hassle-factor -v- free pass will work out differently for some people than for others.

I spent a week in Chatel earlier this summer and thought it looked pretty decent; although it is quite difficult to assess a ski resort when it is completely grassy and full of hikers and mountain bikers ! And yes,it felt pretty French to me, for a holiday resort.

I fell and made skull-to-ground contact while skiing last December, wearing a helmet, and still had to have an operation a few weeks later to remove a build-up of blood inside my cranium. I dread to think what would have happened if I had not been wearing head protection.

I think they even have offered (nearly) "free" flights in the past, but of course then charge you for booking, checking-in, carrying a bag, paying the fee, breathing the air, using the loo etc etc ! |
