Uggs is a mis-spelling for 'Ugggghhhhhhhhhhhh, they're ugly'! Simply horrible footwear IMHO!
A hiking boot or walking shoe are fine. If living in permanently cold climates (or watching Sunday morning rugby training), then invest in a pair of Sorrells. |

Happy, I'm no lover of Crystal, but all TOs buy their currency at least 6/9 months ahead. They will have bought their currency at c.Euro1.05 = £1-00. The pound has appreciated quite a lot against the Euro, so you could get Eur1.175 = £1-00 at present.
Some years you will win out but booking early through the TO (last season for example), other years you won't. With the internet it is very simple to see the cost locally, and see what the exchange rate is doing. Not Crystal's fault. Enjoy your holiday none the less. |

Hi Crispieapplepie
In the 5 seasons I worked in Meribel, you could maybe ski down to Brides for about 2 weeks of the season. You may be lucky but it is 'coarse skiing' getting down to Brides! |

As a ski racer you really don't want that sort of injury at the start of the season - really tough for her.

Any biscuit that's been sat scrunched up in a pocket for more than a couple of hours is pretty yuk!
Where's the energy bar choice? Or a good hot chocolate, or a mars bar? |

Bet their insurance wouldn't pay out!

I'd consider Flaine too - the bowl is great for the kids, and the GM area easy to get round for yourselves. We're back there on 22/01 for our third trip with our 6 year old.
One hour from GVA, excellent snow record (if catches the precipitation started by Mt Blanc. Plenty of accom slopeside to head back to for lunch if you want to save the pennies. |

A cheap non-steam travel iron is perfect for waxing your bases!
If doing your edges, you may want to detune the tips. |
