sued wrote:One question- maybe Ally knows the answer! So, how do you stop your goggles freezing on the inside? Everyone looks cool with their goggles, hat etc. I don't! I have Scott goggles and they mist up on the inside terribly, I can't see a thing and I hate wearing googles! As far as I am concerned they are a good, tight fit and I don't sweat excessively! So what is the problem? If I have to buy new ones can anybody recommend goggles that will behave themselves and I can look cool again! Thanks!

Scott should be fine, how old are they? You might have rubbed/cleaned off the anti-fogg coating on them. You also might find something with the vents in a different place works better for you. I tend to use OTG versions, even when I'm not wearing glasses there's more airflow around the eyes with seems to help.
March should be good this year, as Easter is in April and the school holidays mostly cluster in February it's usually quiet in March.

I am and intermediate Skier buying Boots for the first time.

Thanks

There's Stöckli at Wädenswil and another at Kloten, they have a large range of boots and should be able to sort you out.

The CAS raquette guide for the Jura has that route in it and the Traversée du Jura Suisse (TJS) goes along there as well as does the epic E4 trek. I'd be interested to know what accommodation you use on the Col de Marchairuz, I'm going to take that route I think for my trip along the Jura. My guidebook mentions "La Ferme des Huskies" which sounds interesting :)

An obvious excursion from here would be to go the other way along to Mont Tendre which is the highest peak in the Swiss Jura of course. Somewhere around 20km or more from col de Mollendruz.

24 hours time I will be on the plane

The grooming in the Morzine and Les Gets is probably some of the best around, they seem to be able to produce perfect pistes with nearly any amount of snow so I think you'll be fine :)

But 20cm's isn't a lot really, for all the frequent falls we've had this season the amount of snow has actually been quite disappointing, it's quite noticeable on a lot of the photo's people are posting that the base isn't very deep in places all over the alps.

it's fine, they're under a creative commons license which allows any non-commercial re-use like that, it just prevents re-sale or use where rights are assumed over the material like some of those photo hosting sites.

Certainly it's been some nice weather over that way this week, I wanted to go over the weekend but it'll probably be raquettes as Mrs Ise isn't happy to nordic ski with me  and more practically her skis are at the chalet :)
