Well, I'm packing now for my trip starting tomorrow (til Sunday) in Uttendorf, Austria. will be skiing the Zell am See and Kitzbuhel areas and am going to try a bit of x-country too :) Can't wait !
Good idea; I generally manage ok with contact lenses, but I have heard you need to be careful with contacts in extreme cold temperatures, so these goggles could be a good alternative.

.... of course I realise that my own suggestion of Chatel was about the same distance, (if not a bit more) :)

Blimey, Mr A., my autoroute app tells me it's 2h 50 mins and 220 km ... Could there be two Orcieres-Merlettes maybe ?

Chatel isn't too far if you have a car. Good luck anyway and happy skiing :)
I believe the other point about these Cat Tracks and similar devices is not just to make walking easier and safer, but also, importantly, to prevent the heel and soles of your boots from wearing unevenly, which can then lead to problems in your boots fitting into your ski bindings properly.
