Quivers!
Started by User in Ski Hardware, 29 Replies
Leading on from the other topic, what are peoples current/future quivers for this season?

My gear is:

Orion Hyper Carve - 155cm: For thrashing on the plastic
Atomic Izor 9 - 160cm: Piste carving tool
Head Worldcup iSL RD - 160cm: Snow racing machine

Boots: Salomon Impact 9

and my Scott helmet

Changes for this season - The Head skis are on ebay as we speak and a pair of 170cm Atomic Nomad Blackeyes is hopefully on the way in.

Man you guys are lucky.
I saw petrol at 89.9p per litre today. Thats equals approx £3.40 per US Gallon.
And with the current exchange rate, thats $5.03 per US Gallon!!!!!!!!!

A month or 2 back it was up to £1.26 per litre. Thats $7.05 - almost double what you pay in the states!

erm.....I nearly missed this, WTF???? Universities sponsered by Jagermeister?

We are all doomed.

My, how times change....I bet it makes you feel oooooolllllddd

It does indeed. However I am asuming a percentage of aforementioned sudents will be female, so maybe I will be feeling a little younger bz the end of the week )

Yes, there will be a large number of ladies (or a number of large ladies!)

Will find out the name of the hotel, not sure off the top of my head.
I love a good 20 or 30 hour coach trip, although the on the way back its usually a bit rubbish.

I feel that with my forum name (smirnoff_skier) and my last post about mixing drink and drugs, I am doing nothing to detract from the student stereotype and am infact creating somewhat of an already tarnished impression.

I would like to remind everyone that mixing drink, legal drugs and skiing is bad for everyone and is irresponsible!

I am infact sitting in my cold cold bedroom writing 10,000 words on what the car industry is doing to reduce its impact on the environment, whilst my housemate is listening to Bach's Suite in D Minor.

Later I shall be attending an opera concert with other cultured gentlemen and shall retire to bed with a copy of the FT and a glass of Bowmore Islay whiskey!

Well I will be getting s***faced everynight but will deffinatley be hitting the first lifts in the morning. Red Bull and Pro Plus are the answers to most of life's skiing problems! And as our uni is sponsored by Jagermiester, its a potent combo.

Look out for people wearing tight and bright 80's rave gear, or groups of animals from Noah's Ark.

As its the first week the resort is open, th universities get very cheap deals to ensure the resort is busy from the word go.

6 days lift pass, off-piste insurance, 4* hotel with spa, 5 evening meals, a day of slalom race entry and return coach trips for £349!

I will try and keep the noise down for you as best I can :)

You may regret asking that Tino; I am off with the uni so there are 130 of us. But we are part of a bigger trip with 6 other unis; so there are about 1000 students there for the week.
Sallbach hinterglemm

Hi Geoff,
Was in Saalbach Hinterglemm for 2 weeks last March and the snow was incredible. I also stayed in Hinterglem and there were some good shorter blue runs on the left hand side (the side where floodlit night slope and snow park are). If you get the first big bubble lift (Westgipfelbahn) on the same side and ski over the top to the other side of the mountain there is an excellent 14km blue run that takes you back to Vorderglemm (Blue #7) and some good red runs too.

To be honest, it was all pretty good and well linked together so you shouldnt have problems finding runs to suit you.
