well after the first disappointment ...we thought we had a Very cheap deal..but,,,never mind off to Val Thorens on Saturday...don't know where i am staying ...in a chalet ..somewhere ...but hey ho the skiing should be good!!

might see you there yet ...if i cant get in anywhere else....take a few pounds and the best place to change your cash is in the ATMs which are outside the Rila or just up the road opposite gondola ...or even in the wall of the gondola station

go via lille and Luxembourg a bit further..avoids a lot of tolls and there is cheaper diesel (88p)in Luxembourg

I'm sorry to be the first and not Mr W but...here goes..
Info...the easiest..get a brochure and see where you want to go ..then look up the resorts website and peruse...they usually have an English version , also look up the pace on http://www.tripadvisor.com/ an excellent site The resort site generally has a list of available accommodation and the rates . If you like one email them and see if there is /are rooms available ...if all else fails write to the tourist office. You usually can book the hotel online and sometimes you have to pay a deposit or give them a credit card number but I have had no problems with this in 6 trips . as to driving...it depends how many in your party as to the savings but also where do you intend going the European driving experience is 100% better than the M1 I have found that a major hidden cost in flying are the transfers which can be as high as €75 for shared transport so you save that in driving also the tour operators charge extortionate prices for single rooms when the hotels don't go for it :D |
