Tom, they are heavy. The Atomics remain some of the lightest skis in their class. The Blackeye will probably be a bit soft for you but a 183 Crimson could work. If you are looking for some extra stiffness the Crimson Ti would do the trick.

Something light as mentioned by Bandit may be a good move for you. Any shorter than 180 and I think you would be looking for more length as you improve, a shorter ski will probably hold you back. Even the Atomic Nomad Crimson could be worth looking at.. the nomads are very very light skis.

No for sure. If I had 2 skis, I would have a piste ski and a powder ski the latter including the trees category. So maybe a Volkl Mantra or similar. It is more about technique than anything else otherwise I guess that would make snowblades the ultimate tree ski?

As above, I don't think binding weight makes a huge difference when the skis are on your feet, doesn't really effect swing weight.

Tom.
Silencers are not a powder ski. If you want response in the soft and deep you want a powder ski. Something went wrong somewhere if you are on 169 twins, I would have you on nothing less than a 180- even in the park. Silencers are an uber soft ski and you being 15 stone would just crush them. I'd reconsider your options seriously. |
