Mine only came this week, I guess they send them out to the big spenders first and those of us just buying the cheap stuff get the brochure last ) |

I bought some skis from them last year, a pair of K2 touring skis for my girlfriend and I was impressed with the service. I'd not hesitate to buy from them again. The prices beat most of the discounts I can get which is amazing. |

Your eyesight's obviously beyond the range humans have, there's no one in the first picture at all. |

I bet Hattie's got it confused with the La Joue du Loup that has Super Dévoluy in it and is in the Hautes-Alpes. Easy mistake to make I think, I thought that's where Hattie meant as well

Not really, the first two with an EOS350 which is an entry level DSLR and the second two with a Canon A95 which is a bog standard compact digital. Most modern cameras are pretty good I think. I do have other apparently better cameras but I prefer that duo for weight and performance in fact I use the compact for 80% or more of the time. The only thing I can't get good results from is the phone on my camera but I need to play with it more. If you've got great scenery and a reasonable camera it's just a case of not getting in the way too much :) Some basic settings can be found for most cameras that produce good results 90% of the time. The thing to remember is that the auto shoot modes will be geared to general use and for most people that's not mountains. So you just have to fiddle around a little to find a good setting for summer/winter mountains and use it all the time. |

The peak is Mynydd Mawr and the lake is Llyn Cwellyn, this is the valley that the reopened rail line from Carnarvon to (eventually) Beddgelert runs. Mynydd Mawr is an outlier for the Moel Hebog group and Nantlle ridge group and the photo is take from open country between Rhydd Ddu and the Snowdon Ranger track. && it was last Monday ) |

This was a couple of weeks ago : And this is off topic, but how many times do you see the sun out in Wales? ) |

... when around here we get a lot of fog forming in the valley as temperatures stabilise, by December there'll be more cold air around and this won't be so common. But now the line's around 1800m so if you get above the view is pretty amazing.
and it's quite moody around the tree/fog line as well : couple more on the blog : http://snowslider.net/2008/10/23/moleson-2/ |
