Well, I held out for a while, and I really should not stay at home on a Friday night as I ended up buying one of these..... https://www.priorsnowboards.com/controller.php?op=viewZoomBOARD_STYLE&BSTY_ID=6&BSBG_ID_TOPSHEET=1260&BSBG_ID_BASE=1262# As it is not being built for me I have the Autumn topsheet, which on reflection I think is very nice looking. I got it ex-demo however so that saved me a few quid. |

Haha maybe not ;)
I can actually snowboard, I just have 2 ribs which I have fractured several times playing various sports (rugby, squash and snowboarding) so they are particularly weak :( |

Most Memorable Experience
Taking the Jungfraubahn up to the Jungfraujoch on a beautiful clear Boxing Day, having a lazy lunch then riding all afternoon from Kleine Scheidegg .......and then falling over (at about 3km/h) and cracking another rib on the other side  |

I do some silly things when drunk, fairly sure I have never had the compulsion to buy an 8 man tent however  Genius!!! |

Well done Mrs E :D
Elegant and effective  Not sure I would do it. I did a tandem freefall jump in Spain 2 years ago from about 14,000ft into cloud. Never been so frightened in my life, in no hurry to repeat it. |

It's a little pedestrian in here tonight so I thought maybe we could go over a few memorable runs of the season so far.
Most Painful Running down the Ahorn back to Mayrhofen (Red), Mid December. Snow depth not great on this 6km run and entire length is arificially prepared. Visibility is perfect at the top, but cloud is only 100ft below and all the way to the valley floor so vis is about 30ft at best. First time on the run, can feel the difference between the soft light real stuff and the grainy cannon stuff. Stop about 1/3rd way down at a crest to wait for my buddy. Stood up expecting to start sliding only to catch the front edge in a patch of slush and get propelled forward onto my shoulder, compressing my chest and fracturing a rib (as I confirmed later). Second 2/3rds of the run was not very much fun :!: |

Use the trains. I always use the trains. I will be on a train at 00.53 tomorrow night and in my hotel at the Hintertux about 10.00 to get a good days riding done without having to take an extra night accomodation.
