That would be pretty pointless. They were Blizzard Thermo's, and not mine. Insurance covered the loss. |

Snapzzz, not my skis, not my problem -)
Then again we have been skiing since the dawn of time, so crap will eventually happen.... |

My OH had a pair of skis driven over by something really heavy during baggage handling, years ago. Of course baggage handling owned up. (Not) Naturally they paid for our losses as the skis were written off. (Not) The tyre tracks on the bag should have been a bit of a clue, but as always everyone is in a hurry to GTHO of the airport, and we did not notice. |

You won't get paid out twice. Most insurers share their client data. |

Snapzzz, they were bubble wrapped on the tips and tails, and packed around with small clothes. Totally agree with Trencher. My brand new pride and joy arrived with significant chunks out of the tails, exposing the cores. After drying my tears, I ordered some 2 pack Epoxy Resin from Spyderjon on SH, and repaired the damage. Skitubes are great, but heavy and expensive...and you lose the extra stuff space! |

It depends on what you are comfy using.
I'm 5'4", 65kg, my skis are 160 and 165, recently sold some at 172. All perfectly fine. |

From my experiences on BA:
I took a ski bag with skis as my only bag, and did not pay an extra charge. It was weighed at check in. My brand new skis were damaged in transit with BA. Repairs subsequently carried out to tails with Epoxy Resin. :( I have carried ski boots as hand luggage through T5 on several occasions without any hassles. Make sure they fit the gauge limits. I have no knowledge about Lyon airport, too many years since I've been there. Remember that your carry-on allowance with BA is 1 bag plus laptop sized bag. It all helps... |
