Racing Teams training on Sorebois in Zinal already, out of sight of the Webcams. Hill open to the public on 17/11.
This season in doubt :-(

I still don't have full mobility and was wondering if anyone else has had an ACL injury and not had surgery - and if so what the outcome has been

My OH snapped an ACL many years ago, was unaware, limped a while and carried on with life. Learned to ski, still unaware it was missing. Occasionally his knee would "give out", so eventually he went for an MRI Scan, which confirmed that there was a bit missing!
Surgeon suggested not bothering with reconstruction as he'd gone so long without, ordered a proper brace to be fitted by the hospital, and he carries on as before. Wears the brace for skiing only.

We should revisit this thread in a couple of months. In the meantime, here's some snow from today.....

On the northern edge of the storm train, more snow than usual is forecast in the Pyrenees Mountains, the Alps and Balkan Mountains. With above-normal snow and temperatures that will be cold enough to sustain heavy snow pack, a good ski season is anticipated.

Fallscanbefun, with a car it will be easier. Switzerland has Co-op, Migros, Aldi and Lidl stores, so you can stock up on essentials before you reach the resort -)

I have skied Davos/Klosters, though it's a few years go now! Memories of reasonable supermarkets in Davos, and the mountain restaurant food/drink not overpriced in the system. The strength of the Franc is a problem for most foreigners right now.

Are you driving out?
