off to Austria soon ,cant wait .I think i saw somewhere that not many places in Austria take credit cards is that true ?. I was mainly thinking of the lift passes, skis and boots, and tuition.I dont want to be carrying too much dosh.

:DYou will be so tired in the evening that you wont care what you wear .one of the nice things about skiing is that no one really cares what you look like.

:DWent skiing for the first time last year and hired our tops and bottoms just in case we didnt like it .We did however buy good gloves ,socks and goggles.Thermals came from oswald bailey or millets also got a couple of micro fleeces .Went in Feb lasy year to Austria and it wasnt that cold so most of the cold weather stuff we didnt use, but best to go prepared.Iwas told that good gloves and socks are a must also one of those neck warmers

Thanks for all the replies so far ,certainly lots to think about .An interesting point was the one about booking everything seperately might give it a go.
