I woke up feeling very glum, no skiing until new year, future plans (which involve a small business in the Alps) seemed a lifetime away and finances dwindling quickly.
Then the estate agent phoned and told me I had been made an offer on the house, my mum came over and told me to book a week in Las Vegas for both of us and she is paying and another couple came to view the house and said they would also be making an offer.
I cheered up and thought what a difference a day makes! :D
Yesterday.

Great news SB. I hope this thread doesn't go all off topic and end up in a row over star ratings.

Sell house, buy out of London, no mortgage, a bit of money in the bank, explore/research the Alps for a season and look for small bar/cafe! :D

Hi Snowbandit,
Well, I'm very surprised. I thought you were still looking for a new teaching job
I hope it all works out well for you. I did the same as you - moved out of London and the 'rat race' but I emigrated when I was only 19. I've never regretted it.
So, is your OH giving up his job as well, or can he work from home? It's not a bad idea to have some money still coming in regularly when you start a new business, especially to begin with. I have found that start up costs always seem to be more than I have anticipated, and it takes a while to start making a profit.
All the best for your new venture - I think it's a great idea,
Ally
