I don't listen to music when I'm on the snow, but it seems to me that if you are using ear buds, that a helmet with soft ear panels might allow you to adjust the ear buds without removing the helmet. That might be useful on very cold days. In my experience, well fitting helmets don't move around. I do occasionally get an itchy ear, which is a pain to scratch in a helmet with hard sides.
because I'm so inclined .....

When Wickers makes "absolute" statements, it's sooo tempting to do some trolling, it is summer after all and there is not much action

Instead, I have been good this time :D

Wickers, you would get more support for your viewpoint, if you provided some data to back up your statements.

Where is your evidence?

Support and evidence I don't need, common sense should be enough to tell you that listening to music whilst skiing could be incredible dangerous.

Wickers, you admit you have no factual historical data to support your statement.

Common sense used to tell our ancestors that the earth was flat and that if they sailed too far they would fall off the end.

Then the iPod got invented 8)

The best assumption you can make in safety is that there is no common sense 8)
