My daughter does the same, unless of course she has a particularly irritating ski instructor, in which case she puts them both in :wink:

My helmet has speakers in the ear pieces and the ipod plugs into the back of the helmet. This way I can listen to music but as I dont have any sort of "bud" in my ear blocking out any external sound I can hear other skiiers around me which I think is important.
