I hope you get your snow Dids - you've had to wait long enough for it :D, and Trencher, I think a two and half hour drive is well worth it :D

Is it really going to snow? Here? Anyone got a spare pair of skis and boots ...?

Dang, they just announced that this is their last day. Even though there is no lack of snow on the ski hills, the general public stops skiing as soon as it starts to warm up. They won't keep the places open for a few die hards

Might have to do a four and a half hour drive on Monday

Well done, Trencher, I knew you wouldn't have finished the season just yet.

I may have finished mine, I'm just all skiied out. My knee lasted, just, but I disregarded all the warning signs, spikes, shocks, swellings and kept skiing flat out. I am content though, it was a great season for me. If my bits and bobs do recover, I might go up to Glenshee......

That's the thing with a lot of joint issues, it's use it, or lose it. I have a friend who according to his Ortho and the mris should be on crutches with an arthritic hip. He makes mores runs than any of us on an alpine board, and MTBs all summer. His Doc says if he ever stops moving, he'll be a cripple.

Glad your season was so good.

Thanks Trencher. One of my old instructor friends already had two replacement plastic hips, when he had a bad fall last year, broke both femurs, and both hip joints. So, he was out again on skis this year! I am not in as bad a condition as your friend or mine, but I am aware of my own mortality, (and if I wasn't, there is no shortage of J2skiers to remind me!)

But I do think the "use it, or lose it", is valid. I did muse, when I was at or near the head of the queue for the first Gondola, how few, non-oldies were there. It gets tougher every year!

 When I was signing up for that skierX race, I joked that I would bet I'm the only one who needs reading glasses to fill in the entry form

Well tomorrow is here and I'm speeding towards the Swiss border at around 260km/h. Hotel sorted, board newly edged and with a significant hangover I'm heading for Zermatt where I intend to ride with youthful abandon for two days. Have worked 17 of the last 18 days clocking up about 85 hours a week in the office :( can't wait to feel free up there, it's times like this I adore snowboarding alone.
