Which ones are best Pablo? Are your better ones leather? I bought the leather mitts but maybe I should just have bought some merino liners as well.

Rose - Snowtogs have a decent range of Hestras and they'll give you the latest brochure too. That would give you an idea of what they say are their warmer gloves.

So are Hestra gloves any good or is just a label thing? Tried some on and liked the fit but what sets them apart from your average glove?

I wonder if I ever really will have gloves that keep my hands warm. My hands are always cold, poor circulation. Even last year in Ruka we went on a snowmobile safari where they provide cold weather gear, all in ones, helmets, boots etc and gloves. The gloves were thick leather gauntlets with sheepskin thick linings and my hands still froze.

They tend to be quite tough. The models that are least fashionable tend to be the most durable, and the choice of many pro-skiers. Okay, they might get them for free :D

I have some, and I paid for mine :D

Hestra have a pedigree and reputation built up over 75 years or more. However as with most things, to a degree you get what you pay for. Their cheap gloves won't be as good as their expensive ones.

Look out when in resort to see what brands are used by the instrutors, pisteurs and lifties. If you work in the mountains you know the benefit of good gear.

I have had several pairs of gloves, but by far the best ones have been my current Reusch ones. They are really warm and have removeable inners, and have leather palms and fingers as well. Very waterproof.
Having said that, it does not mean all Reusch gloves are brilliant. I would imagine like any brand, the cheaper models are not as good.

I brought some Salomon gloves a couple of seasons ago they are warm but I do wonder about the overall quality, I think I paid £45.
