I was getting a bit frustrated last night as everything I found was ridiculously expensive. I have tried going directly through some hotels and the resort websites, but maybe its because I'm looking at one of the more expensive resorts.
Anyway, I will soldier on.

Once you've found the resort, try and get a map of all the hotels. Visit their sights direct, and use someone like trip adviser to get a broad selection of reviews.
The earlier you book flights the better, certainly with the likes of Sleasy Jet.

I just hunt around the web for accommodation and look from there. Unless you know the area inside out, the thing with DIY is that it can take a LOT of research. But I find that the fun bit :)

After the thread about the snow train yesterday I decided to have a look at DIY to anywhere that the train went, so Val D, Tigne, Les Arcs, La Plagne.
Now just changed our date of travel as well to 3 March.
