Cardiff airport seems to be on a bit of a downer. Bristol airport seems to be the airport of choice for the TOs. Sometimes the surcharge for Bristol over Gatwick makes me tamp.

Oh yeah, south Wales. Do you have a little light on your head?

I am going to stop in case there is a sense of humour failure.

Iceman, I come from Nottingham, and having been brought up in a family of miners, I have a little light on my head. It helped when I emigrated to Cardiff, mind.

Cardiff Airport's website doesn't show direct flights to many snowy places. Zurich and Milan have direct flights. Not found anything from Cardiff through the TO's yet.

Iceman, I too have a Welsh OH. She "homed". It's a South Wales thing, I think. Glad she did - Cardiff is a great city.

Cardiff has been axed from the tour ops programme this season. There is a reason for this, work it out for yourselves. Something to do with demand and cost.
Bristol is your nearest, £35 supp over Gatwick but worth it compared to driving to the UKs worst airport.

I heard a story last year about a flight that took off from cardiff in bad weather, spent so many hours in the air before being sent back to the UK as no airports could take it, with the passengers spending something like 2 days on board. Hideous.
