The dang snooker is over running. I can count less than 10 people in the audience in what must be the most important snooker event on the calendar

Ohh, it makes me mad!!

   I'm massively also into cycling, and I have this problem all the time in summer..... I hate nothing more than my sky box NOT being able to recognise when something has over run therefore cutting off the end of any sport I happen to tape.... Surely this is an easy fix for sky to put in place........

I agree, but in fairness, now that recording is mainly via hard drives I simply set it to record for 4 hours after it is supposed to be finished.

At least the TDF takes priority when it is on. My highlight of the summer watching Cav spank them down the Champs

I might even pop over to see a couple of stages next year as the route is pretty close to me here in Kent. I need to have a good read up on the stages and see if there is a chance I can see Cav win one in the flesh.

:D

Thanks Crispy, I was already planning on maybe catching the finish in Boulougne, then watch the roll out from Abbeville the following morning followed by a quick dash down to Rouen for the the finish of that stage.

Abbeville is a lovely old town, and would make a good place to stay for the night if there is anything still available

Yes I agree, it would be a shame to miss whilst it's so close.... I'm planning on going to the alps to ride and watch the mountain stages, camp somewhere on the way and ride in each day...

Are you thinking about the etape?

My brother in law did it a couple of years ago and damn near killed himself going up the Tourmalet

Idiot, never catch me doing something as silly as going up a mountain in the summer, far better to wait till the winter and come down it I say

I have to admit I love both..... No I'm not doing the etape I'll just be riding to the mountains to watch the races before riding back again.... Or that's the plan anyway...

I've done the etape du dales 3 times in the uk which I'm told is harder then the French etape.... I would love to do it 1 yr but not just yet. Maybe add it to the bucket list. :D
