If you're driving over, take as many people as you can with you to share the cost - you can take up to 9 people in one vehicle for the same price on a ferry crossing.
Check out any lift pass offers online - family tickets for instance can be cheaper, and there's sometimes discounts on other things thrown in. It might also be cheaper to get the ski pass and channel crossing included in a package with a tour operator.
Finally, small things like planning your shopping carefully i.e. keep resort shopping to a minimum and visit a large supermarket in the nearest large town. You'll also get the cheapest fuel there for the journey home.
Good luck and happy hunting!

...and it'll still set you back a small fortune!

My boyfriend has a studio apartment in Megeve, cheap rates and very near the main cable lift. Cant say the night life is hopping or the town cheap, but the slopes are varied and really fabulous.

Why not try Anodorras resorts like Pas de la casa or Arinsal. Nightlife meant to be really good, and its not too much of a highend ski resort.

Just a thought

Andorra has recently spent many millions of Euro's taking the ski area accommodations upmarket. Pas now has smart 4* Hotels.

Dont bother saving a couple of quid going to satellite resorts with long lift links, or by making the mistake of thinking some french resort looks cheap, as the price of food and drink will crucify you.
Austria is where you get the cheaper deals all round, but choose your resort carefully.

Hi,

From a totally biased point of view Bourg-St-Maurice/Les Arcs has plenty of good places to stay at very reasonable prices, and has a very large , snow reliable ski area ( as reliable as can be had when the weather is the main controller of your holiday ).

There are plenty of runs for all abilities and some well served piste side off piste, as well as plenty more further afield. Also if staying for a week on the 6 day pass you get a days discounted skiing in La Rosiere , Ste-Foy , Tignes & Val D'Isere , and the Trois Vallee's.
