They have similar in Seefeld. I like them as they are heated and its a chance for a warm up. They also have some for non skiers so you can still travel over top of mountain and over the ravines. So I like them

I've not been on one yet but the purpose is to cut the amount of time it takes to get skiers up the mountain. Must be a good thing if that's the case.

As for the health and safety side of things I have no clue but I'm sure they have passed an enormous amount of tests to be up and running in the USA.

I am not technically minded so I don't see why they would reduce the amount of time it takes to transport people up the mountain but apparently it does.

I wonder if people skip the chair and wait for the next gondola because it's warmer? That might defeat the object a bit.

I'd rather just get up the mountain, cold or not. Sure there are people that will wait for a warm though.

Yep, I'm with you! I'll jump on the fist thing available to get me back up...chair, gondola, husband...

No real need for them tbh, plus would save them abit of money if they stuck to chairs

The one in the photo, the only one I have used, had 3 chairs and 1 gondola (and repeat). I found that everyone queued for the chair because it was sunny, and there was no queue at all for the gondola so it saved time for me to choose the cabin.
I guess on a cold day it would be the opposite, and I would probably choose whichever was the shortest queue tbh.
