I don't see a downside to my idea.

Dave,
Does Admin know who rates what star grading?
And thanks for telling us that you approve of the star rating system :D
I think the more opinions we get on this, the better.

So the 3 stars above my name really means I should keep my opinions on places I have skied to myself I take it!!
How do I star some elses review? Positively of course!

Hi Scarlet Fez,
Three stars is not a bad rating - it means you are 'okay' - not poor or excellent, but okay. So I'd keep going with your comments, if I was you :D
You rate other people's comments by clicking on the box in the bottom right hand corner of their message, once you are logged on. It gives you the option of rating their post from one to five stars.
And the rating you personally hold is a moving average of all the grades you have been given by other people on your posts. So if, for example, you have only ever been graded once, and that grade was 5 stars you yourself will be rated 5 stars etc. etc.

I tried to get away with this a week past Sunday, on Ladies Day. Thought I might get free skis for the day. Can't imagine why I didn't get away with it!

The sooner the better, please Admin, I have discovered another disadvantage of the current system - it makes one quite paranoid
I have been downgraded from 4 stars to 3 stars this morning, and I wondered why, because I don't think I've said anything unpleasant, technically incorrect, or even very wibbly just lately. It seems I was given one star for saying I liked Snapzzz's joke, and 3 stars for explaining how the star system works to Scarlet Fez, and this was enough to push down my star rating.
So, I think some improvements to the system would be an excellent idea, thank you very much, before none of us have any stars left, and the whole issue becomes irrelevant :D
How about giving a person the option of opting out altogether? I mean, it's not that I like having lots of stars, I just don't like losing them, or wondering what I've said that could be so bad
Thanks,
Ally
