Well I sincerely apologise for having posted the thread in the first place, it was not intended to offend anyone, and yet here we all are slagging me off.
Yes, I got annoyed when 2 people had a pop at me and I gave a perhaps unnecessary response, but I would have thought people could look at a thread and if it offers no value to them or is of no interest to them, they can move away from it as oppose to provoking or making negative comments on it?

What I find odd is that someone has said that I am full of myself and that I think only my opinion is right. This is where is becomes obvious to me that it is almost impossible to detect tongue in cheek comments and sarcasm on a forum. I have said to others before, its only a forum, why do some people have to take it so seriously? I have my opinions on things, and luckily we are all different and we don't share everyone else's opinions in life. It does not mean I think mine are right and everyone else's are wrong. I have never said that. I post on here in order to sometimes offer helpful advice when questions are asked, if I have some knowledge on the subject, and at other times I post in order to try and add some humour, but it looks like there are a few people who either don't have a sense of humour or who just don't understand mine.
However, I don't think you will find me posting something and saying that it is correct, and any other opinion is wrong. On this forum there are a lot of regular posters from whom I have gained valuable knowledge, and I have thanked them accordingly for this, and it should not matter if I choose to publicly do that or privately. If it doesn't affect you, why bother responding? Just move on to the next thread.

So here we are with 6 pages of arguments, potential falling outs, different opinions, a bit of locking horns and antlers, a bit of personal slagging off, and generally a public dressing down of me and my posts, and all because I posted to thank a friend for making it a good day. If that's the way people feel about me and my posting on here, maybe I should hang up the keyboard and knock it on the head?

Anyway, my humble apologies for starting this thread in the first place, and further apologies for the verbal attack on Private Ryan and Dids in response to what I felt at the time were attacks on me.
