The pound has strengthened a bit more against the euro :D

The Visa rate is now 114.4 euros for 100 pounds.

Do you know which rate your desktop gadget is reporting?

There are so many different currency exchange rates - like the ones in the Post Office, your bank, the travel agents, the booths in the airport etc. That's why I was looking at the Visa rate, because that's what you'll get if you use your Visa card to purchase anything in euros while you're here or abroad, less any charges the provider of the card (Lloyds TSB in my case) might make.

The Visa rates are on here:

I hope you're right and we get back to 1.4 euros to the pound, preferably before my holiday in 3 1/2 weeks time  :D

Will have to check later, but it will probably be a "bank" rate and not a tourist rate. It is the M$ Windows 7 standard gadget, so probably from a bunch of US banks on MSN somewhere.

Update at 17:24

the gadget data providers are as listed here http://moneycentral.msn.com/inc/Attributions.asp

The Visa rate is now 115.86 euros per £100, so the pound is still going up :D

Let's just hope it keeps creeping up.

Edit
Farqueue, does that mean your gadget is giving the international money market rate, and not the consumer, or tourist rate?
