Just spent two hours TLC on my Prior MFR, I killed her in Zermatt in May. Was having so much fun during the last recognised full weekend of the winter season that I was riding over roads, along walls and through stones and mud on the lower runs. Got her home cleaned her off, dired and waxed her so that there would be no water damage.

Woke up this morning and decided to see how bad the damage is. Not good at all was the answer. So off with the wax, out with the Stanley blades and wire brush to get some of the grooves fattened out, files the edges to 87°, cleaned dried and wax back on. She is gonna need a full service including base grind when I get to Switzerland so I held of with the pTex.

Anyway I've definately reached that point when I have had my fill of summer and just want to get on with the business end of the year. Back on J2Ski, servicing my equipment (bindings are in the bath right now), dreaming of snow, setting targets for the season and generally becoming obsessed again.

Gonna be in Zermatt next weekend to look for an appartment, however most of the landlords I am gonna see wanna meet in the morning, so it's unlikely I will get any riding done, come October though, I'm gonna be ou there every weekend :)

Anyone else sick of BBQ's,G&T's and invitations to garden parties (not that I have actually done any of those) and just want to get on with the business of getting wrapped up, speeding down hills and enjoying the odd Glühwein???

Yep. Our summer has been and gone. We had 2 weekends of BBQs and pub golf, and now its back to wind, cloud and 16c. It can do one as far as I am concerned. We will now get about 5 months of this pathetic half light greyness so we may as well get on with extremes and a real winter.
Looking forward to St Moritz in Jan, but nothing else planned as yet. Mind you, I may have some time spare with running my own business, for the odd weekend away or midweek break even. I will be letting you know.

G&T's? Never really been a fan to be honest. You should try Lemon Damm if you want a summer drink.

I like my summers, even though for me they mean masses of cleaning, piles of laundry, hours mowing the lawns and tending to my flowers, and trying to help our holidaymakers make the most of their holidays.

I certainly don't drink G&T, or go to barbecues or garden parties (apart from weddings etc.).

The only thing I like about winter is going ski-ing. Other than that it's pretty dire - rain, gales, ice, fog, and dark at 5 p.m.
