hi just got a new ski bag that holds 3 pairs of skis the only problem is with 3 pairs of skis in the bag weighs just over 23 kg . the weight allowance with jet2 the firm i generaly fly with is 20 kg,so i neen to reduce the weight by 3 kg ,as i take my skis to be serviced at a local shop i have never touched my bindings etc ,so i was wandering how easy is it to remove them and put them back on without disturbing all the settings etc ,thanks charlie

Depends if your bindings are on a rail system or are screwed directly in to the ski.

Rail system = possible but you might need to learn how to set them up or be prepared to pay someone else for it.

Straight in to ski = forget about it.

I agree with Pabs about not touching the screws. Removing them would be not good as most seem to be glued as well. You would weaken the ski.

Rail Systems. Once the binding is set to your needs, the unit will likely slide off in 1 piece. I've done this with Tyrolia Railflex. It's nerve wracking removing the binding unit the 1st time, but essentially, you will simply re-attach the binding unit to the rail to use the ski.

What type of rail system? Can you not just take 2 separate ski bags?

On rail bindings, you will need to look at the numbers where the two parts clip together. This may be easily visible in the middle, as on Atomic bindings, or hidden underneath, as on Fischers, etc. These numbers will correspond to your boot sole length.

There is also a mechanism to adjust forward pressure at the rear of the heel piece. This might be a screw, or a tab with lines scribed on to it. Although this adjustment should not be affected by removing and replacing the bindings, it would a good idea to check it is in the same position (with a boot clipped in) when you remount the bindings.
because I'm so inclined .....

Would be cheaper to take an extra bag than to hire a pair of skis!
