Hi,

I'm looking to book a last minute snowboarding holiday and have found a couple of deals for Passo Tonale and Bardonecchia. I was just after people opinions on which would be better. I have only been snowboarding once in Bulgaria. My mate is probably classed as intermediate/advanced.

I was also after some advice on some websites where i could book lift passes for these resorts.

Any help would be great.

Cheers

Hi only been to Passo and I would say its pretty good for Boarders.
Hardly any drag lifts and none that you need to use. All Chairs.
Good progression for begineers. Excellent snow record and its great at the moment I was there two weeks ago.
Lift pass is cheap and so is the apres (compared to France)

Im off to 3V on Tue and its three times the price for lift pass and drinks.

I'd do Bardonecchia out of the 2, more easily reached plus its close to Sauze and Orelle where you can link to 3V.

I haven't been to Passo Tonale, but a friend of mine has, and he said that's it's excellent for beginners but wasn't much good for him, because he's upper intermediate/advanced. He was very disappointed with it

I saw some cheap holidays there a few years back, looked up the reports and reviews, and discovered it was very much an "up and down" resort, with not a lot going on, very bleak, and a long and unpleasant transfer from Verona where most tour ops fly you in to.
It also informed me its not got much in the way of pistes for good intermediates or above.
Not for me, thanks.

I haven't been to Passo Tonale, but as a skier can recommend Bardonecchia. The price of lift passes and food/drink are reasonable. The snow was great 3 weeks ago and the webcam is showing a good dumping today. All of the boarding events in 2006 winter olympics were held in Bardonecchia, so they have a snowpark and half-pipe although not sure if that is always open. The lift system is good as most are quite new and would give a beginner and more advanced boarders plenty to do. The transfer from Turin is approx 1hr 30. Not sure about night life we only normally have a quick drink after skiing then its dinner at the hotel and bed. for any further info go to http://www.bardonecchiaski.com/
