Hey guys, a group of around 10 of us are considering doing New Years at Pas de la Casa for 09/10.

What's it like? As quite a few of us have never been skiing, however there's the odd few like myself who've done it a fair few times (boarding). So whats it like for skiing/boarding?

We chose it as it was the cheapest (substantially cheaper on inghams for New Years), and know a few people who've been to that region say its alright.

Any opinions on it? As obviously we don't want to end up finding it's crap ;)

Hi shazz,

Just got back this week from pas stayed at Cal Ruiz (at the bottom near the sport centre great hotel friendly staff clean and tidy. Anyway to the nitty gritty i didnt want to come back home Pas was excellent some great runs. Theres two very easy green runs in pas to get you started the rope pully is a pain on the top green but you soon get past that and on to blues and hopefully reds if you get into the groove. Group Lesson from a qualified instructor is a good move if you are complete novices they are very good most of them are born on skis :) I was amazed at how fast i picked it up. I went last year same time so i have only had around 12days of actual skiing and now im on the reds in the other valleys. The snow fall has been amazing this year and the runs are maintained everynight so no worries in that area. I recommend getting boot/ski lockers if you decide to get a hotel near the bottom of pas the 10min walk up hill in boots can be a killer. There are so many blue and red runs in the other valleys and some great scenery we managed to get to soldeu and tarter before we had to head back before 5 when the lifts close. Im a skier so not sure about boarding but from the way they hurtle down the runs at warp factor 9 i guess its just as good for boarders. Get your lift passes on line will be slightly cheaper then buying when you get there. Remember to get complete lift pas details when booking not just confirmation print out else you will have fun when getting your pass at the centre. Hope you and your group have a great time. Hope this info helps you
