I've been skiing for 29 of my 30 years and I have never been properly introduced to backcountry skiing. All my friends are snowboarders and my wife likes the lodge; I'm too rad to end up fat and slow.
Don't get me wrong; I'm no wannabe. I'm a ready-to-be. I am an experienced outdoorsman and would be a great candidate for a dude or dudette who has the experience to trade for a slower day and beer/scotch/money. I'm looking to learn to scout routes, skin-up, and chose the right gear. I live in Calgary, Alberta. I'd rent or buy the gear. I sometimes have a week or two off at a time. I have a Subaru with enough room for all our beer and gear, and I'm happy to drive anywhere. I'm watching MSPs La Nina and losing my mind. |
