Backcountry Mentor Needed; Free Beer. Or...I'm Not Dead Yet

I've been skiing for 29 of my 30 years and I have never been properly introduced to backcountry skiing. All my friends are snowboarders and my wife likes the lodge; I'm too rad to end up fat and slow.

Don't get me wrong; I'm no wannabe. I'm a ready-to-be. I am an experienced outdoorsman and would be a great candidate for a dude or dudette who has the experience to trade for a slower day and beer/scotch/money. I'm looking to learn to scout routes, skin-up, and chose the right gear.

I live in Calgary, Alberta. I'd rent or buy the gear. I sometimes have a week or two off at a time. I have a Subaru with enough room for all our beer and gear, and I'm happy to drive anywhere.

I'm watching MSPs La Nina and losing my mind.
Try posting on Teton Gravity forum. It's mostly for North America back country skiing. Be warned, read around the forum a little bit before posting. There are some nice people on there, but they don't tolerate fools, period.

Thanks for the tip Trencher!
