The 2026 champions of the FIS Freeride World Tour by Peak Performance will be crowned this weekend after organisers confirmed that the season finale, the YETI Xtreme Verbier, will go ahead on Saturday 28 March.
A total of 29 riders will compete to determine this year's world champions on the iconic Bec des Rosses slope above Verbier.
At 3223m, the Bec des Rosses is one of the steepest and most technical challenges in the sport. With a 600m vertical drop and gradients up to 51 degrees, competitors have to navigate narrow couloirs, exposed ridgelines and big cliffs, choosing lines that balance technical precision with progressive freestyle elements.
The event will also mark a full weekend of celebrations in Verbier, with fans, athletes and the wider freeride community gathering for the finale.
An event village on Rue de Médran will host activities including DJ sets and rider signing sessions from Friday through to Sunday, plus there will be a ski test village at Ruinettes offering the chance to try the latest equipment.
In an effort to reduce the environmental impact of the event, organisers are encouraging travel by train. Visitors arriving via Le Châble will be eligible for a 40% discount on ski passes.
