Well I am absolutely thrilled because the 2 things I wanted for this season have been sourced and purchased.
Firstly I needed a new pair of sunnies. True to tradition, I lost my bestest ever paid when I was away in Santorini. Every holiday I lose or break a pair and it makes me mad!
The ones I wanted were £50 in a local glasses shop, and I came home and googled them. I found them on offer online at £35 and then also found someone selling a pair on ebay for £12.99. Yes, 12 pounds and 99 pence.
They turned up yesterday, they are the genuine article, and I have my old snazzy shades back again for a new season. Just goes to show you the manufacturing costs and mark up on things like this.
Secondly, I was after a new pair of goggles. My North Face ones are fine and look good too, but they have a few minor scratches inside the lenses, and I was also wanting to get some red/white ones for the new season, and set my heart on a pair from the Adidas range. But I was not prepared to pay £125rrp for them. I found an online shop selling them at £89 but I wasnt happy paying this as I only paid £25 for my North Face ones courtesy of TK Maxx 2 years ago. However, I did some more googling and found a shop in the states selling them for $89 (roughly £53) and I aint going to get them cheaper than that so they are being delivered to my son at Uni in Michigan this week.
I am now well and truly sorted and happy for the season ahead. Thats not to say I wont end up with another jacket at some stage......

Blimey
No mean feat (no pun intended) How did you get on with the climb?
We got to within 20 metres, yes 20 meters from the top and had to turn back due to high winds, We were glad to get down, and no I won't be trying again. :D
Ready? I was born ready.

I think the recovery time for bunions is 6 weeks for each foot :!: We haven't got our pass's yet because the Tourist info office was shut when we went to St Gervais last week. :cry:Eggman wrote:bandit wrote:Eggman wrote:Couldn't have the bunions done until I climbed Mt blanc this summer, :)

Eggman, it will be a close run thing with your bunions if you expect to be skiing early season. Can your feet be done together?
Well done on the Mont Blanc climb  I don't think I would be up for that, it seems pretty intimidating.
Did you overnight at one of the Refuges?
(As you can see I know very little about climbing)
Shame about the lift ticket though :( When are you next back to St Gervais?

I have new boots, courtesy of J2's tootsie tickling boot guru cem :D Currently, they are quite tight as expected, and I'm hoping to ski in them this week. The outsides look like this...
