isnt Zermatt more fore advanced skiers.
i was thinking 3 vallees because i am a full day skier so 4 days i want plenty of options

Personally I would look at La Plagne - did a short break there 2 years ago and stayed in the P&V La Lauze in Plagne 1800. Also look at chillchalet dot com they have reasonable catered rates and do short breaks.
3V is great too - I would be looking at Courchevel 1650, 1550 or Les Menuires. We have stayed at the Hotel Le Menuire who will do short breaks off peak.
Chamonix is a good option accommodation wise for short breaks but the ski areas are disjointed if you like to ski the whole day.
