I've just checked the 7 and 10 day forecasts for Meribel over the next week and it says mostly cloudy/snowy.. What are the chances of there being a full 7 days of overcast?
The past two years i've been skiing have been absolutly scorching with the sun and perfect that way.. so the chances of there being no sun for the week..? :(
I'm worrying now!
Skiing: the art of catching cold and going broke while rapidly heading nowhere at great personal risk.

I shouldn't worry too much. We'll be in Meribel next week and although I agree the long range forcasts look a bit overcast we're unlikely to see no sun all week!

The upshot is that there will be a nice fresh dusting of snow and the skiing will be brilliant, which is why we're going isn't it!

The only thing that can spoil the 3VL is if the wind picks up and the links between the valleys start closing. If this happens or is at risk of happening you either have to just stay in your valley or worry all the time when you're in Courcheval or VT that the lifts might close and strand you!

Anyway, you'll have a brilliant time, just might not need the sunglasses!

The forecast for Meribel looks great, good mix of sun and snow.

I would happily go a full week without sun if there was plenty of wind, snow and trees.

Snow? Brilliant.
Low visibility and fog? Not so great
Wind? No thanks, that really CAN ruin your holiday.

I have been so lucky with the vast majority of all my ski trips: there has always been plenty of snow on the mountains, and the sun has invariably been out most of the week.

I have never skied in as much fresh snow as I did last week. I wouldnt be moaning if I were you about the fact it might snow  I'd be more worried about how often winds in the 3V get up and close the high lifts and links to other valleys. Maybe buy a local lift pass if its going to be like that?
