You just need to take up an equally exciting summer activity! I only started dinghy sailing because I was becoming completely obsessed with skiing.
It worked! I'm off to Schladming on Saturday and I've only just started to get excited. Once I'm back I'll only have to wait a few more weeks before the dinghy racing starts again.
Splendid!
Just home from my first ski trip.......how do i cope now?

You've got a point.
Last year we went out on my husbands newly acquired motorbike. Loved it so much and it was a high a bit like skiing. Not quite as good, but deffo really enjoyable.
We're going to go away weekends on it in the Summer and that's something to look forward to.

I used to Skydive quite a bit but packed in when i met the good lady and settled down. Everything since then has been an anti climax apart from the Skiing.
Maybe i will buy myself a mountain bike or just stick with my guitar.....either way its going to be long year........

Well, I find Eurosport to be a great comfort. The winter sports coverage starts toward the end of October, and with the Olympics this year, there will be major snow overload for me in Feb.
I have really started to enjoy the Sports I guess people would not usually watch, like the Biathlon, Ski Jumping, Luge and Skeleton.
Plus if you get really lucky, they show the summer versions of these events too :) Skiing on roller skis shows off the mountains in all their summer glory.
I also now watch the cycling tours, especially for the mountain stages. It can be a real boost to my day to spot a 10' section of snow still hanging on in the shade in the middle of July up one of the big hills :) And my mates think I'm sad
