Ski Accident - can anyone help?
Started by User in France, 12 Replies

What if the other party doesn't want to give you his or her details ( for obvious reasons )or there is a language barrier,I for one don't carry pad & pen when skiing.
As an instructor was in attendance he should have known the protocol regarding on piste accidents, also he should have sought medical help as he is not qualified to assess the injuries suffered.
To put a injured skier on your shoulders to retrieve your skis because you're not able to walk defies belief.
God only knows how you can pursue this now,but would definitely start with the ski school & instructor, cant see the police being of any help.

Anyway sorry to hear of you accident & wish you a speedy recovery, also good luck in getting some sort of compensation from this as you deserve it.

Definitely a winner - I'd pay good money to not see that!

I think my opinion might be different if I owned a €600 pair of skis which I never have or will, bandit knows what I paid for my last set of skis and I am more than happy with them, I
don't worry about a few scratches as long as the bases and edges are in good nick, I think I will continue to buy second hand skis in the future, and save my self a small fortune.

Ian,
Don't you think you might change your mind, though, if it was as easy as putting a coin in to get a supermarket trolley (and you got your coin back afterwards)?

And, I think you should put a tracking chip in your skis - Bandit's clearly got her eye on re-possessing them

If the ski lockers where FOC I would use them but I don't think you get anything FOC in a ski resort

The thieves don't charge you for nicking your skis, so that's FOC.

The only problem is - I'd have to ski with a hammer in my pocket :D

Perhaps the cafes should take some responsibility in this, and provide lockable racks - something like a combination between lockable supermarket trolleys and those lockable lockers where you get the key when you put your money in and lock them.

Ally

Maybe the cafes should loan hammers to save carrying them. :D

Seriously though I did see lockable racks in Borovetts in the early 90s which you had to pay to use,& yes the types you describe would not be to much of a problem to install.
You would still find people not using them as you would have to pay, but they would at least have a choice.
