The whole area was pretty quiet - virtually no queues. Enough people to make apres ski fun though!!! :D

No probs G.

The Reiter side is sunny for most of the day, and the Zwolfer area is in shade lower down for most of the morning. The sun will be higher when you get there so it wont really be an issue. For lovely wide reds, the Reiter side side probably shades it. Head for the Hochalm and the Spieleck 6er chairs.

It was cold enough last week that even the South facing slopes were not affected. If anything, due to traffic, the lower return to the village was a little icy below the Gondola station, but nothing to be concerned about.

I cant help you on the rental shop issue, but the shops are all within a couple of hundred metres(max) from the Reisinger. If you have a choice, Gumpold Sports is probably the best in town.
I'd be worried too!! Are you sure you mean GENITAL or GENTLE ski-ing???

Hi G,

The huts on the hill do all kinds of food at pretty reasonable prices. From Goulaschsuppe to Grostl, Bratwurst to Bolognaise.

On the Reiterkogel side my favourites were the Hochalm and the Sonnalm, at the foot of the Sunliner chair. You will find them easy enough.

On the zwolferkogel side the 12er Treff at the top of the gondola is good for a liquid refreshment stop mid to late afternoon.( I had a couple of dark descents down the black but enough said about that the better - Cant have the Health and Safety Nazi's on my case!!!)

To sum up, you will not be short of refreshment stops wherever you are on the mountain.

We had a bit of snow and cloud but didnt affect the skiing at all. Weather was superb for skiing overall.

Fond memories!!!

I find self-catering holidays to be a bit of a misnomer, as someone else, usually a pizza chef, ends up doing the catering!!! :D
Do racers actually carve?
