You're welcome to come along....... My ski hosting and guiding fees are very reasonable ) |

We 've stayed in a really well appointed beach chalet in Cornwall with mod cons, 2 bedrooms, walking distance to sand dunes and 10 min drive to the beaches for £800 for a family of 4. This was in August. Just the fuel to drive down to Cornwall and food to add to this. Probably no more than about £1,200 for the week or £300pp. Lots of body boarding, bbq's and sand blasted faces! |

Can the ski purchase double up as a birthday present? That would make most economic sense! )

It's expensive but I am, without doubt, in the "you only live once" camp. We want our holiday experiences to be as good as possible. Ski in ski out is a big things for us - I really don't like messing about with buses, treks etc before hitting the slopes and likewise want to get back to base easily at the end of the day.
We are now prioritising winter holidays over summer. Our summer trip this year is free (courtesy of in laws who have inherited some money). Next year's summer trip likely to be to Cornwall which is pretty cheap. |

Correct, £559 pp from 2nd week of Jan. Holidays are going to seem very cheap once the kids are out of our hands!!

Snapzz, only about £30 to £35 via Snowberry in val d'isere. Are other resorts more expensive?
I wonder if these skis you've highlighted will be any near as good as quality hire gear??? Then of course, you need to pay for servicing per annum and possibly baggage costs on the flight over? We've bought out two kids helmets but that's it for the time being. My eldest wants to buy a snowboard but only when she's got near to her likely adult weight which is probably a couple of years away. We've had one bad experience with a hiring gear (Les Arcs) but excellent elsewhere. We always go for the premium option which is not much more if booked ahead. |
