Now come on you guys lets be sensible about this everybody knows that you can't fit snow chains to a wheelbarrow, but nails is another kettle of fish, all thats needed for a great holiday in Niederau is a hand full of nails and a hammer. Now in future can we please have a little decorum, this forum should be a place for reasoned debate not a place for silly comments and derogatory remarks about a very popular Austrian resort. I thank you...

My family and I are off to Valmeinier for our first family ski holiday.
My wife and i have both skied before and the kids are in fist time ski school.
I was just wondering if anyone had been to the resort and could give us some info.we are stopping in the pierre appts.
Many thanks

ash & family :-)

I have some fond memories of Valmeinier went there with the wife back in 2001 pretty much snow sure at 1500 meters the link back can be a bit dodgy if you are an inexperienced skier.
Night life is on the quiet side set mainly around restaurants with the occasional bar, did not use the ski school so cannot comment on them, had some great night skiing with very poor lights which kept going out but that was eight years ago so things might have changed some what.

It's been snowing on and off all day here in Norwich but it seems we have got off lightly compared with other parts of the country. :XD: :XD:
