NellyPS wrote:So, I'm injured and my skiing is over this week. I'm sure you all feel my pain :(

I could tell you all a fib about how I was going down a black run, but I was getting off a chair lift, guy in front fell over, I swerved to avoid him, my legs went in opposite directions and I felt the ligaments in both knees go. Blood wagon ferried me off the mountain, fortunately only one knee was really injured, on crutches, in a splint, no more skiing :( :( :(

Oh Nelly, how awful
It was very kind of you to avoid running over the man that had fallen over, and it doesn't seem quite fair that you were the one that ended up being injured
I expect he was fine ...

Assuming you make a quick recovery, I reckon there's nothing for it but to book another ski holiday this season :)
Where would you like me to put you on the list?
what's it like in andorra?

mothy61 wrote:Hi there its me again . as your only aloud so much luggage allowance on a plain and it being cold ? i have seen a ski boot bag which will take most of my ski gear yea so will free up my suitcase yea . so can i put it in as ski equipment like instead of skis which is pre order at £35 as long as it dose not go over 30kg i think is this right or am i way off the mark

I don't really understand this question. Do you mean you want to have a normal checked in suitcase that goes in the hold, a normal piece of carry on hand luggage, AND a boot bag which you're going to pay £35 for as a checked in extra snow sports bag to go in the hold?

I would have thought you'd manage OK without paying the extra £35 for the extra bag. Some airlines let you put your ski boots in your hand luggage, but even if they don't you can put your ski boots in your suitcase and quite a lot of stuff in your hand luggage. Clothes hardly weigh anything, and the hand luggage allowances are usually quite generous.
This is the size of the hand luggage allowed by EasyJet:
You can take one piece of hand baggage into the cabin with you -no bigger than 56 x 45 x 25cm incl wheels- which must fit comfortably into the baggage gauge. Hand bags, briefcases, laptops and laptop bags are all counted as one piece so if you have a hand bag and a laptop bag for example, you might want to consider putting one inside the other.

Thanks very much Lynn_D for a truly excellent report on ski-ing in the Dolomites
Tony,
Why is Val d'Isere in one list and Tignes in the other one? I mean, they've got the same shared ski area, and when you're ski-ing you can't actually tell, from the type of run or quality of snow or anything, which area you're in.

The village of Val d'Isere is prettier than the Tignes villages (apart from Les Brevieres of course), but it's also generally more expensive.
