LOTA wrote:A few years ago, in La Plagne, a rather boorish fellow chalet guest regaled us with his stories about how he'd never had a lesson, he could ski anything and everything, lessons are for weeds etc etc. Chalet nightmare, to be honest!

Against my better judgement, he came out for a morning with my brother (who works in the ski industry) and I. Visbility was marginal, it has to be said, but after two runs, our new friend decided that he was feeling a bit tired and slipped away. According to his wife, that evening, he was having lessons the next day!

eric.lwc wrote:thank you for all the suggestion. Should I book the skiing school in Slovenia rather than other place??

I am holding on for a cheapeee , we will see what comes up next week.
But decide where you want to go that is in your budget and then book your ski lessons
-)
Good advice. Slovenia might be great in good snow and for a weeks worth of ski school but you'll find some bargains if you leave it late to book. Ski school can always be booked as the package or separately through the tourist office of where you end up going.

The only problem at the moment is that availibility seems to be in "N"

I have found that skiing with a host tends to stop you thinking about where you are at ..you tend to blindly follow your leader and not consult the map or even plan a route ..so the question " where did you get to today" can't be answered..and you tend not to plan anything before you set off

But that is what I tend and like to do, keep a piste map in my pocket and off we jolly well go, I do not like to over plan where we go, i like the mystery
