That's pretty tough. Do you find it hard ski-ing to try and balance your energy, and eat regularly (it would be awful if you passed out on the slopes somewhere)? I've heard it's hard to watch your weight when you're diabetic.

There are victims in life and I'm not one of them, but you have to make certain changes to your life style, it opens your eyes somewhat when you start reading food packaging to see the amount of sugar put into food these days.We cook all our food at home from fresh so we know exactly what has gone into it, no hidden little secrets. Never had any problems with passing out any where, but you have to be sensible not skip meals and watch your weight, hence our healthy eating campaign just to bring the weight back into line, I never class my self as being over weight but I could do with losing a stone. The benefits the big D has given me is that I have had so many blood tests that I am in 100% working order and without the Big D I would not have known that, you also have a greater understanding of your body you know when you have been naughty when pressure is on at work it is quite easy to skip a meal but your body soon tells you..
I'm still really tempted with Kitz

Tony_H wrote:Ian, if you want to go to Kitz, then get on and book it. I havent been, but if its anyting like other places in Austria, you should enjoy it. Austria is a fantastic place to ski.
I dont tend to choose somewhere to go based on what nationalities go there, or based on a review in the Sun for that matter either, otherwise I'd spend every summer in Haven at Cleethorpes with the rest of Sheffield......Seriously, go for it Ian otherwise you will never be able to pass comment on Austria.

I can pass comment and have about Austria, I'll have to see how Mrs W feels about it, she might be the stumbling block 8)

Are you really a diabetic, or are you just mucking around (technical farming term) again?

Dave,
That's what happened to me - no spare cash for 30 years.

I hope it's the no sugar added sort of albran, you wouldn't like to put that 4 pounds back on would you? Actually I'm on a diet as well - have been for a couple of months, and I've lost about 12 pounds, only got to lose another 2 pounds.

I like outside work, and getting dirty and things, and I'd never be able to stick wearing a suit or looking smart, so choosing farming was pretty much a no-brainer. But I did go to university to learn the theory.

No sugar, I'm a diabetic

No I'm not 41, because it's 6 years since I first took my daughters ski-ing, and consequently I am 47.

Eljay, my Mum was a G.P. and my Dad was/is an antiquarian bookseller. But like pretty much everyone in the world, my ancestors on both sides were farmers.

You see I new there was farming in you family, there are few people that just become farmers, I wasn't having a pop at farmers, I'm eating my breakfast albran it's like eating cardboard
