Helmets
Started by User in Ski Chatter, 65 Replies
I think we are all very hypercritical by making our kids wear helmets and then not wearing them ourselves.
I recently fell off my push bike and hit probably the only rock around with my head. Split my helmet front to back...... Dread to think what would have been.
I always wear my mine. :)
I think they should insist on helmets when hiring kit. Most people who hire are beginners and more likely to be out of control.

Thanks for the replies I was looking at sharing fuel costs and looking at Clubcard vouchers for the ferry/Euro tunnel. But will set up spreadsheet and look at both options. Thanks again.

SAAS FEE

Hi Mikei

I have skiied Saas Fee for the last 3 years. It is a great resort. But not particularly lively at night. It's a car free resort and I found the parking for a week quite pricey, not to mention coming back to the car a week later to find someone had dragged a toboggan along the side of it. Last year we took the train from Geneva, and then the post bus up to the resort. I would definatly recommend this. Each mode of transport was clean and more importantly on time!!!! You do need to book the train in advance and the return bus needs to be booked in resort to make sure you get a seat. But not as ardious as it sounds.
Give it a go!!!

Cheap Drive ski holiday

Thanks for all your replies.

Unfortunately we also have to go in school holiday time but there are only three of us, and two of us can drive. We are only 1 hour from Portsmouth so thought that may be a good place to hop over the channell otherwise it's a couple of hours + to Dover. I will try some of the web sites mentioned and look at the resorts.

We normally ski Switzerland, which I have found the lift passes etc slightly expensive!!

Thanks again

Mark
Cheap Drive ski holiday

Now the credit crunch has come along I have been told that we need to be less extravagant on our next winter holiday. So I thought that we might drive to a resort. Can anyone suggest a resort with a reasonable snow record, for a family of intermidiate skiers. I would prefer to drive the least distance possible!!
I know tall order
