Err, what more does she need to say Tony_H?? she has sent the link, the accommodation details so what more do you need to know?

I use the same service when I go there. I can tell you tony that the seats are comfy, they stop off for loo breaks, the drivers can be happy or sad, the weather is changable, sometimes the windscreen wipers are a bit noisy !!

If there is anything more specific, please ask !!!!!

Cant wait for this magazine.........

Traffic Wardens burn that many calories running away after ticketing cars and irate people chasing them!! That is a career not worth considering... the only thing worse is a car clamper !

I would have thought that should be the very bare minimum anyway.

The bare minimum in the bedroom department anyway ) )

That'll be a nice change for you then

I havent flown in to Munich before, actually. Its also cheaper for car hire than any of the other airports, its a short and easy drive, its somewhere I know to make life easier, and the accommodation is very well prices for the time of year.

If anyone can show me accommodation anywhere else with a decent ski area on the same dates, I am all ears.

Ref somewhere cheap betweeen 26th Dec and first week January....
Myself and two other girlies (I'm almost old enough to be mummy ...) have bagged a triple room at the Staffler for £180 each, half board. We're driving down on 27th for the week.
However, before now, i've travelled on my own and have met up with friends when I've arrived. I've telephoned Angela at the tourist office in Oberau beforehand and have booked a bed and breakfast direct with one of the many, friendly, very clean and can't-do-enough for you private householders or pension owners. These rooms can be had, for the week, for about £20 per person per night, breakfast incl. I can give you some tel numbers if you like, but am away until late Thursday. L.

wasn't this suggested, surely you can drive there instead to broaden your horizons and you are also off to St Anton on 4th Jan, right?

XX- I HOPE YOU LIKE ST ANTON, TIS GREAT -XX

Leave Mayrhofen this year, it will still be there next.

Driving is not a viable option,

XX- I WAS SUGGESTING DRIVING FROM THE AIRPORT AS YOU HAVE SAID YOU ARE PREPARED TO DO THAT, ALSO THE TRAINS ARE VERY EFFICIENT AND REASONABLY PRICED -XX

it costs too much when you can get free flights. As I said, I am quite happy to go elsewhere, but I have not found anywhere with suitable accommodation at a cheap rate for the time of year compared to this. You do tend to look at places you know first.
Why dont you tell the Niederau gang to go and broaden their horizons????

XX- HA, HA, I HAVE COMMENTED ON THAT BEFORE, BUT OF COURSE AS YOU ARE AWARE, THEY DESCRIBE THEIR REASONS AND THEY HAVE FOUND THERE HAVEN SO I CANNOT DISAGREE, YOU APPEAR TO WANT TO STRETCH YOUR LEGS BUT HAVE ONLY BEEN TO A LIMITED NUMBER OF RESORTS DESPITE OBVIOUSLY BEING VERY KEEN ON THE SPORT AND OBVIOULSY RELITIVELY NEW TO THE SPORT.

ABOVE (ON FACE OF IT), SEEMS TO BE £20 A NIGHT TO A LOCATION THAT YOU HAVE ASKED FOR DECENT ACCOMODATION DETAILS ON YET YOU ARE BACK AT MAYRHOFEN - WHAT FOR THE 6TH TIME??

YOUR POSTS CONTINUALLY SAY YOU WANT TO GO HERE OR THERE ON PRETTY MUCH EVERY RESORTS MENTIONED. I'M NOT HAVING A GO BUT YOU SAY THAT YOU ONLY GET OUT 2/3 WEEKS PER YEAR (NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT) SO TAKE THE OPPORTUNITY TO GO SOMEWHERE ELSE RATHER THAT THE HARI KARI.... M IS YOUR COMFORT BLANKET -XX

You cant just write about 'M' in your new mag ) ... whens that out BTW??

Why should I tell you before anyone else....do you want to subscribe already?

XX- REST ASSURED, I WILL BE BUYING IT AND I HOPE IT DOES VERY WELL INDEED. -XX

New Year Skiing in Niederau
Started by User in Austria, 32 Replies
I have been there once a few years back. It was nice enough, but I was with a good intermediate who was not confident going off piste and exploring and threfore he found the resort far too small.

The off piste was pretty decent but I would not rate it as highly as those on here. I have been to risoul and would say that is a better resort for mixed ability and really decent off piste.

Overall, I will not be making a big effort to go back to Niederau, its pretty, but there are many better places to try first
Thanks for all your help. I have it sorted now. I also found another site "snowheads" which is also really good for info if you haven't seen it.
