Max,

Did you find a place for the newyear in Zermatt?
I was just wondering if you pulled it off.

cheers,

Prometeus
I've started work on the Whistler Area.

Download the KMZ here
I've created a new Google Earth File with allot of ski trails of the Whistler - Blackcomb Area.

Make sure you turn on the Terrain Layer, and click on a ski trail and then on the play button! Its like you ski of the mountain yourself! This is a great way to see if a run is daring enough or to tame.

Whistler - Blackcomb 3D Ski Map in Google Earth 4

Visit my Blog for updates on this file and other resorts.
its called 3d-ski-maps on blogger.

I have updated the Glacier Area so all the lifts and ski runs are accounted for now!
I'm going to stay for the first time in hotel www.antika.ch but i've read a few good posts about them somewhere else.
The main selling points for were.

1. In the very heart of Zermatt when you look on the map overlay on google earth or here [http://www.zermatt.ch/graphics/map/Ortsplan-zermatt.jpg] they are located on number 53 near the busstop.
2. Wellness there is nothing better to relax in a sauna and hot steambath after a day of skiing.
3. cheap.

You might also wanna check out hotel / appartments Vannesa

If you download this PDF

The numbers of the hotels are in the upright corner so you can do an easy check where they are.

cheers.
As the long subject line already explains, I've made a 3d piste, village, lift map of Zermatt using google earth 4.
Its not an overlay of those artist impressions its the actual ski run.

Make sure you turn on the terrain layer.

If someone has some tips on the glacier area I would be delighted cause I couldnt find the lifts there.

Cheers!
I think you can find them in Zermatt especially in the Gornergrat Area.
Have a look at the 3D trails I made with google earth,

The orange/yellow are downhill runs on unprepared pistes.
At least in Zermatt that is.

I'm going in januari 26 2008... damn the waiting it hurts.
