My criteria is pretty much the same as yours. And i have come up with (after les arcs in dec) La Clusaz.

But i agree that the Grand Massif is a good option in france. I loved it, short transfer too.

I so wish we had that kind of flexibility, cant wait for Megs to finish school. The week we need (9th feb) is a popular week and there were zero deals even 2 weeks before last year.
