Phew. 12 hour gutter installation stint over. Shower, alcohol...in that order.

Feels equivalent to a full day's skiing (without the views and slightly warmer)
Up at 7am....i'm on a mission.

As we are between seasons and the weather has been bloody awful I've decided to spend some money on new ski gear in a vain attempt to keep up with snapzzz. Just bought a new Norrona jacket as image below. Should be arriving in the post today. New lid and goggles next on my list (thinking of POC - anyone have POC gear?)

Don't know about you lot, but I'm fed up of rain and low temperatures. We are renewing the gutters and downpipes on our house. Our timing has not been great....

Cost - bought OH a new laptop, a lot more kit for the money than a Mac Book.

Thats a common argument but i just do not see it that way. Its not just about hardware cost, its about the whole experience. For me OSX is a pleasant experience and i 'enjoy' using it. Everything is seamless and makes PCs (software) feel so awkward and hard work.

My new Mac has NO cd drive, NO Ethernet port and NO hard drive and will cost 3-4x the average laptop and i can't bloody wait.

Totally agree with this. I use my imac most days whilst sat at my desk. It simply whizzes along, never crashes and the whole experience is excellent although I found the learning curve to be steep at the beginning. One of the best things??..........when i finish up at night I simply walk away from the machine and then it goes to sleep. At 8.30am next morning, I tap the keyboard or wiggle the mouse and it powers up in seconds. Every time.

We're mac fans as well here. We swapped our office pc's for imacs a couple of years ago (with a mac mini server) and have recently got ourselves ipadded up so i can bring up the snowforecast site (or j2ski) in a matter of seconds.

Expensive gear but worth it IMHO.

I loved La Plagne. I am considering dumping Les Arcs this new year (as crystal are totally messing me about AGAIN) and returning there.

Snapzzz, we also enjoyed skiing La Plagne last year but on balance I think we preferred Les Arcs. The biggest issue for us were the queues and crowded slopes in La Plagne. In the end we only spent one day there but maybe we were just unlucky? I recall queuing for 30 minutes to get out of Plagne Bellecote which properly wound me up. Because of this we didn't make it across to Aime La Plagne and the slopes on that side of the resort. We were there from about 7th to 14th March.
